What Jason needs... (from Castrocopia)

American Idol: what Jason Castro says he needs

In the blogosphere, we’ve been contemplating what Jason Castro should do to make the most of his American Idol journey (join in on this survey). Whether it be choosing a different song, cutting his hair (NOT!), or taking the stage sans guitar, Idol watchers have joined Randy, Paula and Simon in offering their advice.

But how about asking Rockwall’s favorite son himself? That’s what family friend Carol McMillan did during her recent visit to the Idol set. Jason met the McMillan’s for dinner at a nearby Hollywood restaurant around 9 p.m. last Wednesday, during the contestants’ “free time” (something they don’t have much of).

Carol writes, “Jason was in a very good mood, but tired. He said that was the biggest challenge. His schedule is really busy. They frequently have 15 hour work days.”

“We asked Jason what we could pray about for him, and he said to pray for his energy level. He said the schedule is physically draining and makes it hard on everyone. I imagine it is also somewhat emotionally draining, too,” Carol said.

Carol adds, “And please tell Jason’s fans to keep VOTING, VOTING, VOTING! This week is Idol Gives Back and Jason is excited about his song and the whole show! Let's take him to the top!”

So Castro fans, Jason needs our prayers -- and our continued votes.
